A welcome return for Poachers Pre 65 Classic Trials, first trial back since March and first time back to Biscathorpe Pit for more than two years. A dry sunny day welcomed the 41 riders that pre-entered the event. The club decided not to run the intermediate class and the entry was split between expert and clubman riders, with sections set to take into consideration the 5-month layoff. We saw a tie for the win with 5 riders remaining clean for the day on the expert route and 4 riders remaining in single figures on the clubman route.
The Covid 19 restrictions put in place worked really well and I would like to thank all the riders that took time to email and post on the clubs Facebook site, lots of positive comments and feedback. We are looking at ways to improve our online entry in advance of our next trial, which is scheduled for 16th August at Smith’s Farm, Withcall and we do hope to be able to use the stream sections in Withcall Valley that we use for the NBBC Poachers Bag Trial.
We will be running with the same Covid 19 restrictions and riders will still be in groups, but due to the success of Biscathorpe’s trial we hope to be able to increase the numbers to 48 riders. Keep an eye on the club website towards the end of the month for up-dated info on Smith’s. MG
