56 Riders braved the snowy conditions on Sunday morning for the first round of the 2013 championship. On the Two Stroke Expert route Mick Ash reveled in the muddy conditions and rewarded the course plotters with a clean sheet closely followed be Mark Spencer on a commendable 3 marks lost. Expert pre unit was won by Geoff Gadsby on 6 and unit winner Brent Cordon parted with 7, an unusual mechanical problem to the cubs fuel system responsible for 5 of these.
The intermediate route winner was unit rider Paul Kirkby on 15 marks lost, followed by Mick Dawson on 23 on the little rigid Bantam and Big Bike intermediate winner was Steve Fewster on the Matchless. On the Clubman route the only rider to remain in single figures which was no mean feat! was Pete Kitching bringing the James home for 3 dabs. Last years “Best Newcomer” Smiler Hutson had another good ride to win the Unit Clubman and Harold Allen took the Pre-Unit Clubman win on the big BSA.
We thank all the riders and observers for making the effort in very wintry conditions, we are sorry we don’t have any pictures from Sunday but as you are all aware Errol had to observe on section 4 which kept him very busy. MGBiscathorpe Results
